LINCOLN – Tyler Garkow and the Birds bullpen posted the third shutout of the season in a dominant 5-0 Canaries win Friday at Haymarket Park. 

Garkow (5-8) picked up the win after holding the Saltdogs to two hits and no runs in six innings of fantastic starting work. DJ Sharabi, Trevor Simms, and Colby Wyatt all carded scoreless frames in relief after Garkow exited.

John Richy (6-6) suffered the loss after allowing 11 hits and five runs (five earned) as the starter. The Canaries outhit the Saltdogs 11-5. 

Wyatt Ulrich finished with two hits and two RBIs. Zane Gurwitz picked up a pair of hits. Daryl Myers reached base four times. He scored twice and recorded one RBI. 

The Canaries will continue the six-game road trip tomorrow night in Lincoln. RHP Angel Ventura (7-6, 5.38 ERA) will get the start for the Canaries vs. LHP Kyle Kinman (7-3, 3.01 ERA) for the Saltdogs.
