Ben Moore Canaries 2013

By Aaron Rosenberg

With the Canaries on a four game winning streak, Ben Moore will have a chance to not only keep the Canaries hot, but to put his name in the Sioux Falls Canaries record books yet again. The righthander is currently tied with Richard "Doc" Hyde for most career wins in a Sioux Falls uniform witih 53.  Moore is already a decorated pitcher in Sioux Falls having won American Association Pitcher of the Year in 2010 and 2011 and was part of the Canaries championship season in 2008.

Power bats led the Canaries to victory Monday night in the series opener against the Gary Southshore RailCats.  AJ Kirby-Jones homered twice and recorded 5 RBI and Carlos Mendez added a solo shot.  Six runs in the 1st inning provided a comfortable cushion for the Canaries and the outcome of the game was never in doubt.

The teams continue their series at the Birdcage tonight with first pitch at 7:05 PM.  Tonight is Give Back Tuesday and fans can receive 2-for-1 admission with the donation of any non-perishable item to Feeding South Dakota.  Tickets are available at the box office, by calling 605-336-6060 or via TicketMaster.
