SIOUX FALLS, SD – The Sioux Falls Canaries announced on Thursday morning that they have re-signed right-handed pitcher Grady Wood.

Wood, 27, is coming off a fantastic 2017 campaign, where he was a top pitcher in the American Association. Wood was amongst the league leaders in multiple categories: innings pitched (132.2), strike outs (117), ERA (2.71), WHIP (.99), and complete games (3).

“Bringing Grady back was one of our biggest priorities this offseason,” says Canaries Manager Mike Meyer. “He is the ultimate competitor and has the makeup to pitch at the highest level. Knowing Grady will be there every fifth day anchoring our rotation is a big relief and should provide rest for the bullpen.”

The Canaries open up their season at the Birdcage on May 18th. Friday Night Fireworks will follow the conclusion of the game. For more information on tickets and corporate opportunities, visit us at or call our front office at (605)336-6060.
