Canaries and Stampede take home SD Gold Addy Awards
SIOUX FALLS — The Sioux Falls Canaries Baseball Club and Stampede Hockey Club are proud to announce they were both recipients of Gold ADDY’S at the 2014 South Dakota ADDY Awards. A Gold ADDY is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the competition.
The Canaries captured a Gold and Best of Class award in the Integrated Campaigns category for their “Welcome Home” campaign for the 2013 season. The campaign was created by Fresh Produce and was centered around the return of the Canaries name to Sioux Falls after being known as the Pheasants from 2010 to 2012.
The Stampede took home a Gold and Best of Class award in the radio category for their Holiday Party ad, written by Leesa Bendt-Olander and produced by Mark Nelson and Midwest Communications. The ad promotes group and company outings at Stampede games.
“It’s an exciting time for our organization,” stated Stampede/Canaries President & CEO Tom Garrity. “We are fortunate to work with great partners like Midwest Communications and Fresh Produce who have helped spread our message of family, fun entertainment at our games. We want to thank and congratulate Leesa Bendt-Olander and Midwest Communications as well as our friends at Fresh Produce for their hard work and dedication.”
Both teams have seen a significant increase in attendance over the last two seasons. The Stampede just completed regular season play in which they finished with the best attendance in the USHL for the first time in franchise history, averaging over 4,200 fans per-game. The Canaries set a franchise attendance record in 2013, drawing over 160,000 fans at the Birdcage.
The Canaries will open the 2014 season at home on Thursday, May 15th versus Sioux City at the Birdcage. Tickets for the home opener as well as group and suite outings are available now by calling 336-6060.
