Canaries Announce August Scheduling Changes

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Canaries front office has announce a pair of scheduling changes that might affect season and single game ticket holders in the month of august.

The Canaries will wrap up a three-game series against the Salina Stockade at the Birdcage on Sunday August 20th. The game was been pushed back to a 4:05 PM first pitch instead of the originally scheduled 12:05 PM that was printed on schedules and tickets.

August 20th is Modern Woodmen Day at the Birdcage, with the first 500 fans receiving a FREE baseball rally tote courtesy of Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial. The Birdcage gates open at 3:00 PM with first pitch scheduled for 4:05 PM. August 20th will also be the final Sunday Family Funday of the 2017 season. Bring the whole family out for a day of sun, fun and Birds baseball! Kids will be able to run the bases after the game, and everyone will be able to receive autographs from your favorite Canaries players, coaches and mascots.

The second scheduling change will take place on Tuesday, August 22nd in the series opener against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. The two North division rivals will play two, seven-inning games in a double-header starting at 6:05 PM. The first game of the series will be a make up for the rainout in Fargo, ND on August 2nd. The second game in the double-header will take place approximately 30 minutes after the first game wraps up.

The Canaries embark on a seven-game road trip on Thursday, August 10th, opening a four-game series at CHS Field against the St. Paul Saints. RHP Miles Nordgren (3-6, 5.26 ERA) will take the mound for Sioux Falls in game one against St. Paul RHP Mark Hamburger (12-3, 3.26 ERA).

The Birds' are back in Sioux Falls at The Birdcage starting next weekend, Aug. 18 with three-game series against the Salina Stockade, followed by four games against Fargo-Moorhead.
