SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The sweet sound of baseball on the radio is coming back this summer for Sioux Falls Canaries fans, in an all-new streaming format.

The Birds are launching the Canaries Radio Network for the 2020 season, the club announced Friday. The broadcast can be heard at https://mixlr.com/canaries-radio-network and on the homepage of sfcanaries.com.

Carter Woodiel returns to the booth for his third season as the Voice of the Canaries, calling all 60 games of the 2020 season. Woodiel will be joined in the booth for home games by Adam Bertsch.

Bertsch, a native of Miller, South Dakota, developed a passion for broadcasting when he created and organized an online streaming service for broadcasting sports of Miller High School during his senior year. That passion continued at Black Hills State University where he hosted a live weekly sports show on the campus radio station.

During his sophomore and junior years at BHSU, he became the lead broadcast assistant with the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL Double-A hockey league in which he has hosted intermission reports and select pregame coverage. The summer of 2018 saw Adam as the inaugural “Voice of the Spearfish Sasquatch” of the Expedition League. The following summer in 2019, Adam was one of the broadcast interns for the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League.

Following graduation from BHSU in December 2019, Adam escaped the dreaded South Dakota winter to broadcast for the California Winter League in southern California.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the Canaries broadcast team this summer,” Bertsch said. “The Canaries organization is the perfect spot to begin my professional career. Sioux Falls is a wonderful city and the proximity to home is the icing on the cake. I look forward to working alongside Carter and the rest of the Canaries as well as meeting baseball fans from near and far all while improving my skills as a broadcaster. Go Birds!”

Information on how to watch live video of 2020 Canaries games will be released at a later date.

The Sioux Falls Canaries open their 2020 season on July 3 at the Birdcage. For more information on season tickets, suites, group outings, and corporate opportunities, call the Canaries Front Office at (605) 336-6060, or visit www.sfcanaries.com.
