LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Lemurs (36-32) avoided the series sweep on Tuesday night at Uni-Trade Stadium after scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat the Sioux Falls Canaries (28-40) by the final scored of 6-3.

Jeremy Strawn (2-10, 4.84 ERA) took the mound in the series finale, facing his former team for the first time since being named American Association Rookie of the year in 2014. The right-hander held Laredo to just three runs on five hits over his first seven innings, but left the game in the bottom of the 8th with one out after walking leadoff batter Kevin Taylor.  Strawn recorded his only out of the inning after Brian Peterson was retired on a sac-bunt, advancing Taylor into scoring position.

Taylor had a big night for Laredo, finishing 2-for-2 at the plate with a homerun, 2 RBI, and two runs scored.

Brian Humphries extended his hitting streak to a season best 13-games after going 1-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a walk.  Humphries is hitting .426 (23-for-54) two doubles, six homeruns, and 13 RBI during his current streak.  Chris Grayson also had a good night at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored.
