Military Night and Bark in the Park Highlight Upcoming Weekend

The Sioux Falls Canaries are excited to announce a fun-filled weekend at the Birdcage.  

Starting on Thursday it will be Military Appreciation Night sponsored by Mid-States Audio and Video, the Canaries will be wearing digital camo themed jerseys. Veterans will received a discounted price on tickets and merchandise in the Pro Shop if you show your military I.D.

Also included on Thursday, fans can enjoy Cagey's Pre-Game Tailgate Party. Beers will only be $1 from 5-7 PM. The Canaries will welcome the St. Paul Saint's to town for a four-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM as RHP Brett Gerritse (0-4, 5.31 ERA) will take the mound for the Birds.'

Friday night will showcase a fan favorite, All-Star Fireworks Friday presented by Orthpedic Institute and Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital. Following the game, fans can enjoy a bombastic fireworks show that everyone will sure to love!

RHP Jeremy Strawn (2-1, 3.08 ERA) will make his fourth start of the season for Sioux Falls, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 PM.

Kids will run the show on Saturday evening beginning at 6:05 PM. Sign up your child at the gazebo located in the main concourse during any home game this season for a chance to help sell tickets, help with on field promotions, read PA announcements and so much more!

LHP Miguel Pena (3-1, 2.30 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Birds' on Saturday night.

Every Sunday at the ballpark is Family Funday! The first 500 kids that walk through the gate will receive a free baseball bat courtesy of Schoeneman's Building Materials Center.

RHP Shawn Blackwell (1-3, 2.73) will get the nod for his fifth start on the mound this season with first pitch at 4:05 PM.

Sunday will also feature Bark in the Park and Flag Day. The Birds' will be wearing their military theme jersey in rememberance of Flag Day. Fans can also bring their four-legged fur friends to the Birdcage. Dog tickets are just $5 each with all the proceeds benefiting local animal shelters.
