SIOUX FALLS, SD- The Sioux Falls Canaries wrapped up their three-game series against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Wednesday night, winning in walk-off fashion after Jerome Pena sent a one-out blast over the left-field wall to give the Birds a 6-5 win in front of 2,638 fans at Sioux Falls Stadium.

Pena’s blast was the third home run of the night, follow teammate’s Jason Repko (11) and David Bergin (13) who each hit solo home runs in the win. Bergin’s lead-off homer in the bottom of the 7th gave the Birds’ their first lead of the night at 6-5. The 26-year-old first-baseman is now tied with teammate Brian Humphries with a team-best 13 home runs this season.

Repko extended his hitting streak to seven-games after going 2-for-5 with a pair of strikeout. The veteran outfielder is batting .451 with three home runs, two doubles, and seven RBI’s during his second longest hitting streak of the season (9 games 7/25-8/6). Pena also finished the night going 2-for-5, hitting his seventh home run in the win.

Canaries LHP Joe Bircher (3-4, 3.46 ERA) put together a strong outing, but ultimately took a no-decision after allowing four runs, on 10 hits, over seven innings. The Left hander left the game with a 5-4 lead before turning the ball over to the bullpen in the top of the 8th. Lefty Josh Ferrell lasted just 1/3 of an inning, after giving up one run on two hits. Chase Johnson picked up his 5th win of the season after allowing just one hit over 1 2/3 innings of shutout baseball.
