FRANKLIN, Wisc. -- In a series of tight games, round three went to the Milkmen. The Sioux Falls Canaries (37-56) dropped the rubber game of their three game set 5-3 at Milwaukee (36-57) Monday night at Routine Field.

Tyler Herron threw seven solid innings for the Birds, despite having to stop for a 55-minute rain delay in the first inning. The veteran righty allowed five runs (four earned) on 11 hits, walking three and striking out three.

Birds catcher Clint Coulter extended his on-base streak to 18 games with a 2-for-4 performance. Mitch Glasser recorded a three-hit night in the defeat.

Sioux Falls jumped out to an early lead in the first, thanks to a trio of singles. Mitch Glasser and Alay Lago singled to put men on the corners, and Clint Coulter knocked Glasser in with a base hit of his own.

Milwaukee put men on first and third with no one out before the rain delay stopped play. They wasted no time after re-taking the field; Manuel Boscan drove in the tying run with an RBI fielder's choice.

An RBI single from Riley Pittman two batters later gave Milwaukee a 2-1 advantage.

Sioux Falls tied the game in the fourth inning. Burt Reynolds hit a double to left with one out, and Mike Hart delivered a single to bring Reynolds in and make it 2-2.

Milwaukee took the lead back in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run from Pittman.

Pittman delivered again in the sixth with an RBI bloop single to make it 4-2. He finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

The Milkmen took a 5-2 lead in the seventh, but the Birds had a chance to get back into the game in the eighth. Kevin Taylor made it 5-3 with a one-out RBI single.

The next batter, Burt Reynolds, reached on a fielder's choice and stole second, putting the tying run in scoring position with two out for Mike Hart. Hart struck out to end the inning.

Myles Smith got the save for Milwaukee, throwing a scoreless ninth.
