Hitting Coach

Gerald enters his first season as the Sioux Falls Canaries hitting coach. Gerald began his coaching career as the hitting coach of the Shreveport Sports in 2004, spending parts of three seasons with the organization before taking over as manager for the remainder of the 2008 season. He has also spent the last four seasons serving as hitting coach for the Minnesota Blizzard Elite program

Gerald played in 1,323 games over 17 professional seasons, with a career .263 average to go along with 1,265 hits and 769 RBI. The St. Paul’s, NC native was originally drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 3rd round of the 1989 MLB Draft. He played in over 500 minor league games with the Royals, Cardinals, and Twins
