Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations
Carter Woodiel enters his third season as the "Voice of the Canaries" in 2020, serving as the primary play-by-play broadcaster for all Canaries games on the Canaries Radio Network. A May 2018 graduate of the University of Missouri, Woodiel spent the summer of 2017 calling games with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
In the offseason, Woodiel is the women's basketball play-by-play voice at the University of South Dakota, as well as a sideline reporter for USD football radio broadcasts.
Woodiel's work has earned him several awards, including a Missouri Broadcasters' Association award in 2015 for his play-by-play work with KCOU-FM in Columbia. He has also received two awards from the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, one of the highest honors a collegiate journalist can receive. He has also won an Edward R. Murrow Award and a Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award for his work in radio reporting.
