Morrison, 26, appeared in 148 games for the Laredo Lemurs over parts of the last two seasons, posting a .307 batting average to go along with 179 hits and 50 RBI. The speedy outfielder helped guide the Lemurs to the 2015 American Association championship after batting .350 with a double and five RBI in post-season play.

Morrison was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 4th round of the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft. He spent parts of seven seasons in the Rays minor league system, batting .262 with 106 extra-base hits and 151 RBI. Baseball America tabbed Morrison as the #13 Prospect in the Rays farm system in 2010 and rated him as the systems “Best Athlete” after the 2011 season.
