Pitching Coach

2019 is Ben Moore's third season as the Canaries pitching coach. Moore started his coaching career in 2015 as the pitching coach of the Frontier League’s Washington WildThings. In 2016 he moved to the American Association as the pitching coach of the Laredo Lemurs.

One of the greatest pitchers in American Association history, Moore spent 12 years in professional baseball. He started his pro career as an amateur free agent with the New York Yankees in 2003. After two seasons in their organization, Ben joined the Independent ranks in 2005 with the Calgary Vipers. Moore pitched for the Birds from 2008-11, and again in 2013-14. Moore is the Canaries’ all-time leader in wins (55) and strikeouts (698). His number 25 was retired in 2018.
