Canaries Sign Combs and Richardson for 2026
Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Canaries are pleased to announce the return of right-handed pitcher Ryan Richardson and catcher Scott Combs for the 2026 season.
Richardson enters his second season with the Canaries following a career year in 2025. He led the club with 47 appearances and posted a 2.47 ERA while recording an outstanding 0.86 WHIP, emerging as one of the most reliable arms in the Canaries’ bullpen.
Combs returns to Sioux Falls for his third season after earning All-Star honors in 2025. The veteran catcher set career highs in hits, home runs, RBIs, and caught-stealing percentage, while continuing to serve as a steady presence behind the plate.
“I am very pleased to have Ryan and Scott back for another season,” said Canaries manager Mike Meyer. “They are both A+ teammates and were unbelievable for us last year. Ryan continues to baffle opposing hitters and induce soft contact in some of the toughest situations. Scotty does an incredible job handling our pitching staff and made major strides offensively last season.”
