Culbreth Named American Association Pitcher of the Month
Sioux Falls, SD – Sioux Falls Canaries starting pitcher Ty Culbreth has been named the American Association Pitcher of the Month for May 2024.
The left-hander possesses the top ERA among all qualified pitchers (1.29) and is 3-0 through his first four starts of the season.
Culbreth allowed just two earned runs on 13 hits over 22 innings during his three outings in May, walking two and striking out 13 opposing batters. He also threw a pair of complete games in consecutive starts, just six days apart.
This marks Culbreth’s first monthly honor and second career league honor after being named Pitcher of the Week on June 26, 2022.
Culbreth and the Canaries currently have the top record in the American Association at 13-7 and will wrap up a six-game homestand this week with three against Kansas City.
