EXTRA INNING HEARTBREAK FOR SIOUX FALLS ON WEDNESDAY
Sioux Falls, SD – Fargo-Moorhead struck for five runs in the top of the tenth inning to break open a tight contest as the RedHawks topped Sioux Falls 7-2 on Wednesday.
Jabari Henry homered with one out in the first inning to give Sioux Falls an early 1-0 lead. The score held until the top of the fourth when Ben Livorsi tied the game with a two-out single and Manuel Boscan doubled home Evan Alexander an inning later to put Fargo in front.
But Zane Gurwitz had an answer, tying the game with a solo homerun in the bottom of the fifth and the Sioux Falls pitching staff would not allow a baserunner until extra innings. There the RedHawks took advantage of a drawn-in infield and the lone Sioux Falls fielding error of the game to break the game open.
Five different Canaries recorded a hit while Colby Wyatt, Mitchell Walters and Riley Ferrell combined to toss three perfect innings of relief. The Canaries are now 23-33 and will look to salvage a game in the series Thursday night at 7:05pm.
