Canaries Add Two New Right-Handed Pitchers to Roster
SIOUX FALLS, SD – The Sioux Falls Canaries have announced the signings of a pair of right-handed pitchers: Nicholai Arbach out of Dakota State University and Spencer Bauer from the University of Central Florida.
Arbach, 23, will enter his first professional season in 2026. The 6-foot-9 right-hander put together an impressive collegiate career, posting a 3.98 ERA across 219.1 innings pitched while striking out 257 batters. His best season came in 2025, when he made 13 starts and completed nine of them.
Bauer, 25, also begins his professional career in 2026 following a strong college run at Elon University and University of Central Florida. The Manasquan, New Jersey native appeared in 67 career games, logging 128 innings and recording 130 strikeouts.
“We are very excited to bring in Spencer and Nicholai,” said Canaries manager Mike Meyer. “Both put together fantastic collegiate careers, and I expect them to be big contributors for us in 2026.”
The Canaries open the 2026 season on the road against the Lincoln Saltdogs on Friday, May 15, before returning home on Monday, May 18.
