Hoops Back Behind the Mic
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Sioux Falls Canaries announced today that play-by-play broadcaster Tanner Hoops will return for the 2026 season, marking his fifth year as the voice of the Birds.
Last season Hoops became the first in franchise history to be named American Association Broadcaster of the Year. He will call his 400th American Association game on May 27 as part of the team’s doubleheader at Kane County.
Hoops has been a broadcaster for the University of Minnesota’s Gopher Radio Network since 2021 and handles baseball play-by-play duties for the Big Ten Network on BTN+. He also serves as a Minnesota Vikings correspondent for KFAN in the Twin Cities.
The Canaries open the 2026 season on May 15 in Lincoln.
