Back at the Birdcage (06.20 – 06.22)
SIOUX FALLS — Strap on your cowboy boots, sport your best cowboy hat, and get ready to saddle up at Sioux Falls’ coolest outdoor bar — stocked with a bevy of local brews — as the red-hot, scoreboard-blasting Sioux Falls Canaries return to The Birdcage this Friday through Sunday for more fun that you can shake a bat at.
The Birds have won six consecutive games — all on the road — and are the American Association of Professional Baseball’s undisputed “Sultans of Swing” through a quarter of the season. Sioux Falls is league’s the highest-scoring team and tops in home runs, hits, doubles, triples, and runs batted in.
A three-game homestand against the rival Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks starts with Friday’s 7:05 “Ladies Love Country Boys” Night, including a massive fireworks show immediately following the game. The series continues Saturday at 3:05 with Canaries Beerfest starting at 2:05. The event features dozens of selections from six local and regional breweries, plus live local music from Sioux Falls staple Elisabeth Hunstad.
Sunday’s 4:05 game marks another “Sunday Family Fun Day,” where fans of all ages can play catch in the outfield before the game, then run the bases and receive autographs and selfies from Canaries players after the game. The Birds will return home the very next weekend for Crush Cancer Night (Fri, June 27), Military Appreciation Night (Sat, June 28) and another Sunday Family Fun Day (June 29).
Every Canaries game offers the most summer fun anyone of any age can have in one spot — especially kids — with a free Kids Zone (playground, bounce house, radar gun inflatable) supervised by Canaries staff. Fans are major parts of the Birds’ famous wacky live entertainment throughout each game. The Birdcage features classic, delicious, fresh ballpark food and ice cream, plus a wide variety of beers, wine, and cocktails at two different bar areas where fans can enjoy the game while grabbing a drink.
ALL veterans and currently serving military members receive a ticket discount to every game by showing a valid military I.D. at the ticket office. All military will receive FREE admission to the June 28 Military Appreciation game.
