BOX SCORE

SIOUX CITY – Jabari Henry went deep again, but the Canaries dropped the third in the four-game series with the X’s 7-5 Wednesday at Lewis and Clark Park. Cade Gotta also went deep in the game.

Charlie Hasty got the start for Sioux Falls and turned in a solid outing in his second professional start. He went a season-high five innings, allowing four runs (four earned) while scattering six hits in a no-decision. He struck out five and walked two. Righty Joe Riley (3-2) got the win for Sioux City after allowing four runs (four earned) in six innings of work.

Trailing 4-2 in the top of the sixth, Gotta and Henry went deep to even the game 4-4. The blast was the second of the season for Gotta and the 11th of the season for Henry, who clinched his home run title in 2017 with an incredible season-ending series that included a three-homer game in Sioux City. He also went yard last night.

The X’s rallied for three runs in the seventh before Nick Gotta scored on an eighth inning wild pitch to bring the Canaries within two. Connor McCord (0-1) suffered the loss after recording one out in the seventh and exiting with injury. He was credited with three runs (two earned).

The Canaries (20-32) and Explorers (30-22) finish the series tomorrow at 7:05 pm. RHP Angel Ventura (3-5, 6.75 ERA) will get the start for the Birds vs. LHP Brett Adcock (2-5, 5.37 ERA) for the Explorers. A live stream of the game will be available on Fox Sports 98.1 FM and via American Association Baseball TV.
