MILKMEN HOMER THREE TIMES, PUSH BIRDS’ LOSING SKID TO EIGHT
Franklin, WI – Will Kengor hit two homeruns and the Milwaukee pitching staff held Sioux Falls to two hits as the Milkmen topped the Canaries 5-3 on Saturday.
Milwaukee’s Aaron Hill hit a solo homerun in the second inning to open the scoring but the Birds were quick to respond in the third. Angelo Altavilla started the inning with a single and following a flyout, the Canaries drew four consecutive walks to take a 2-1 lead. Trey Michalczewski would draw a third bases-loaded walk before the frame ended.
But Kengor made it a one-run game once again with a homerun in the bottom half of the inning and put Milwaukee ahead for good with a three-run shot in the seventh.
Ty Culbreth allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings while Altavilla and John Nester had the two Sioux Falls hits. The Canaries are now 31-53 and will look to snap the eight-game losing streak Sunday at 1:00pm.
