Big Third Inning Powers Birds Past Kansas City
Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Canaries used a five-run third inning to defeat Kansas City 5-4 on Friday.
Scott Comb led off the third inning with a homerun and Errny Ordone added an RBI double. Ordonez later scored on a dropped third strike and Jabari Henry clubbed a two-run homerun.
The Monarchs, though, answered with four unanswered runs to pull within one but Charlie Hasty struck out the side in the ninth inning to earn his 19th save.
Five different Canaries recorded a hit as the Birds improve to 54-42 overall. The two teams will resume their four-game series Saturday at 5:35pm.
