Birds Drop Rubber Match at Milwaukee

Franklin, WI – A three-run seventh inning proved to be the difference as the Canaries dropped a 4-1 contest at Milwaukee on Thursday.

The Milkmen opened the scoring in the first inning with a triple followed by a sacrifice groundout. Milwaukee led 1-0 until the bottom of the seventh when they scored three runs after a flyball was dropped with two outs.

The Birds broke the shutout in the eighth inning when Welington Dotel laced a two-out RBI triple to score Carson Clowers but couldn’t bridge the gap any further.

Seth Miller allowed one run over six innings in his first professional start, scattering seven hits while striking out four. The Birds are now 15-23 and will return home to open a three-game series against Lincoln beginning Friday at 7:05pm.
