BIRDS WINNING STREAK SNAPPED AT SIX
Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Canaries’ season-long six-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday as the Birds dropped an 8-2 decision to Fargo-Moorhead.
The two teams held each other scoreless through the first three innings but the RedHawks got on the board with a solo homerun in the fourth and hit another in the sixth.
Sioux Falls tied the game in the home half when Jabari Henry doubled home Wyatt Ulrich before crossing home plate himself on an RBI single from Gavin LaValley.
But it would be all Fargo the rest of the way, erupting for five runs in the seventh inning and adding another in the eighth. Meanwhile the RedHawks bullpen did not allow a Canaries hitter to reach base.
Wyatt Ulrich led the Birds offensively with two hits while Neil Lang allowed two runs over six innings and struck out five. Sioux Falls is now 21-30 and will look to win a fifth consecutive series Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm.
