Canaries Re-Sign 2023 Relief Pitcher of the Year, Charlie Hasty
Sioux Falls, SD – The Canaries re-sign 2023 Relief Pitcher of the Year, Charlie Hasty.
Hasty, 26, enters his fourth season in Sioux Falls and will once again anchor the bullpen as the closer. The Wayne State (NE) product has improved every season of his professional career, with his most dominant coming last season, seeing his record 22 saves and whiffing 48 batters over 43.1 innings pitched. Hasty is currently playing Winter Ball in Mexico, along with teammate Mike Hart, for the Mayos de Navojoa.
“I’m extremely excited to have Charlie back for another season in a Canaries uniform,” says Canaries Manager Mike Meyer. “He has made drastic improvements each of the last three years and has become one of the most consistent relievers in the American Association. He has a plus fastball in the mid-90’s with natural cutting action. I look forward to seeing continued improvements to his off-speed stuff this season.”
