Canaries Re-Sign RHP Cole LaLonde and LHP Brady Stover
SIOUX FALLS, SD – The Sioux Falls Canaries have announced the re-signing of two big pieces to their bullpen, RHP Cole LaLonde and LHP Brady Stover.
LaLonde, 25, signed with the Canaries in July following a dazzling 2023 season at the University of Central Missouri. The Minnetonka, Minnesota native played a big role down the stretch, providing the Birds with some high leverage innings during the playoff push. LaLonde finished the 2023 season on a strong note, allowing just 3 runs, on 4 hits, with 10 strikeouts in his final 7 appearances.
“I am very excited to see the leap Cole takes here in his second professional season,” says Canaries Manager Mike Meyer. “He has arguably the best stuff on the roster, and has potential to be a major weapon for us in the back end of the bullpen this upcoming season.”
Stover, 25, re-joined the Canaries mid-way through last season, after a year and half with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks. Following Brady’s addition, the Canaries turned their season around on the mound, finishing the second half as a top-5 pitching staff in the American Association. Stover tossed 28.2 innings, punched out 22, and finishing with a stellar 2.83 ERA.
“Brady is the kind of guy you love to have on your roster. He takes the ball in any situation, and has the ability to give you multiple innings at a time. We plan to have him play a critical role in our bullpen next year.”
