Sioux Falls Canaries Re-Sign DH Jabari Henry

Sioux Falls, SDThe Sioux Falls Canaries’ all-time leader in virtually every offensive category is set to return for the 2025 season.

Jabari Henry, the Orlando, Florida native, aims to continue climbing the American Association career records list as he chases several milestones. With 141 career home runs, Henry is just six away from surpassing another former Canary great, Reggie Abercrombie, who currently holds the record for most home runs in American Association history. Henry also ranks third all-time with 455 RBIs and fifth with 418 runs scored.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Bari back for one more season.” says Canaries Skipper Mike Meyer. “He truly represents what it means to be a Canary. He loves to play in the Birdcage, he loves the city of Sioux Falls, and I cannot wait to watch him continue to smash Canaries and league records. He is still one of the premier power hitters in our league and I expect him to continue providing leadership in and out of the clubhouse.”

As the Canaries’ all-time leader in hits, doubles, home runs, walks, and RBIs, Henry looks to add to those totals in 2025. In addition to his offensive contributions, he will once again serve as the club’s bench coach and is expected to be a key leader in the clubhouse.

The Canaries will kick off their 33rd season on Friday, May 9th, when they face off against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Fans can stay updated on team news, group outings, and more by visiting the official website at www.sfcanaries.com or by calling the front office at (605) 336-6060.
