Sioux Falls Canaries Re-Sign Infielder Josh Rehwaldt
Sioux Falls, SD – 2024 All Star, Josh Rehwaldt, returns to the Birdcage!
The former University of Sioux Falls Cougar is set to join the Canaries for his second season, and is coming off another fantastic statistical year, leading the Birds in multiple offensive categories.

“I am extremely pleased to have Josh back for 2025,” says Canaries Manager Mike Meyer. “Josh established himself as one of the most dangerous hitters in the AA. He has the rare ability to hit for both power and average along with being able to swipe some bases. We are lucky to have him in the middle of our order on a daily basis. We look forward to him once again being a force with the bat, and to continue to improve as a defender in the outfield.”
The Canaries open up their 2025 season on the road against the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks on Friday, May 9th. Their home schedule begins Tuesday, May 13th, welcoming in the Lincoln Saltdogs for a 3-game series.
