Sioux Falls Canaries Sign Chase Engelhard for 2026 Season
Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Canaries have announced the signing of middle infielder Chase Engelhard for the upcoming season, adding a versatile defender to the club’s infield.
Engelhard split his collegiate career between Tulane University and Florida International University, capping off his senior campaign with an impressive offensive performance. During his final season, he posted a .308 batting average along with a .397 on-base percentage and a .471 slugging percentage, good for an .868 OPS.
Following his collegiate career, Engelhard continued his development in the MLB Draft League, suiting up for Trenton. Competing against some of the top draft-eligible talent in the country, he further showcased his defensive reliability and offensive upside.
“Chase is a high-level competitor who has performed at strong Division I programs,” said Canaries Manager Mike Meyer. “He brings a polished bat with upside, good instincts in the middle infield, and the kind of makeup we value in our clubhouse. We’re excited to add him to our roster.”
