The Canaries Re-Sign Jabari Henry

SIOUX FALLS, SD – The King of the Birdcage is back! The Canaries are thrilled to announce that Jabari Henry will return for his seventh season in Sioux Falls.

Henry, 33, has his name at the top of the Canaries Franchise Record Books for basically every meaningful offensive category. He is the Career Leader in Games Played (501), Hits (502), Home Runs (120), Runs (361), Runs Batted In (391), Walks (327), and is second in Doubles (90), trailing only Canaries Hall of Famer, Trevor Lawhorn (93).

The Orlando, Florida native also holds the single season records in Walks (89 – 2023), and is tied for first in Home Runs (29 – 2017 & 2022).

“It’s been an honor to have Jabari play for me for 6 seasons, and I’m grateful he will be with me for my 7th.” Says Canaries Manager, Mike Meyer. “He is the most feared power hitter in our league, and has been for some time. He puts together elite at-bats, brings stability to our lineup, and makes everyone else around him better. As teams prepare to face us, they always say “we aren’t going to let Jabari beat us”, yet he continues to put up incredible numbers. I think the best thing about Jabari is his character. He’s an all-time human being, and that comes directly from his parents. Jabari is the backbone of our clubhouse and he works tirelessly to make sure everyone is enjoying their experience as much as he is. His presence is invaluable to our organization!”
