CANARIES SEASON ENDS WITH GAME 3 LOSS IN KANSAS CITY
Kansas City, KS – The Sioux Falls Canaries’ 2026 season came to an end Saturday night, dropping a winner-take-all West Division Series Game 3 in Kansas City 7-3.
Anthony Hall singled to lead off the second inning and Grady Mee homered one batter later to give Sioux Falls an early 2-0 lead. But the Monarchs were quick to respond, tying the game with a two-run shot in the bottom half before jumping in front with a two-out RBI single.
Mike Hart tied the game in the top of the sixth with a solo shot but the Canaries would be held without a baserunner the rest of the way. Kansas City grabbed the lead right back in the bottom of the sixth on a two-out RBI single and added three insurance runs in the eighth.
Hall finished with two hits to lead the offense. The Birds end the season in the playoffs for the fourth time in the past four seasons.
