CARAVALHO, CURIALLE PROPEL BIRDS TO THIRD CONSECUTIVE WIN
Sioux Falls, SD – Michael Curialle collected four hits and Josh Caravalho tossed seven strong innings to earn his first professional win as the Sioux Falls Canaries topped Lincoln 8-1 on Friday.
The Saltdogs scored on a sacrifice fly in the first inning but it was all Birds after that. Josh Rehwaldt tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth before Curialle and Grady Mee followed with back-to-back run-scoring doubles.
Anthony Hall drove in two more with a seventh inning triple, Mike Hart smacked a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth and Curialle added a two-run triple.
Caravalho allowed a run on three hits and fanned four over seven innings while Mee, Hart and Rehwaldt each finished with two hits. The Canaries (49-48) return to action Saturday at 5:35pm with an opportunity to clinch a postseason berth.
